Spring certainly has sprung here in South Florida but the official celebration is happening this Sunday in Mizner Park with the third annual Egg-A-Palooza presented by the South Florida Parenting group. For the past three years Egg-A-Palooza has produced quite a turnout with an all day easter egg hunt for children of all ages to enjoy! The easter egg hunt is an untimed event in a fenced in area with prizes ranging from gift certificates from local area restaurants, DVD’s, puzzles, special surprises, stuffed animals and assorted candies. Parents or older siblings can accompany younger children during the hunt and North Broward Preparatory School, a local sponsor of the event, is donating bags for those who do not have their own easter baskets!
Along with the easter egg hunt, South Florida Parenting has changed the game just a little bit this year incorporating sports activities hosted by the Miami Marlins and the Florida Panthers! But thats not all. There will be a rock climbing wall, inflatable slide, bounce house, face-painting, a balloon maker, a photo opportunity with the Easter bunny, a “make and take” sand art and bunny hat craft station and even giant lego bricks! The South Florida Parenting group has surely thought of everything this year!
Throughout the event will be local acts gracing the stage bringing a little flair to the event! Entertainment will start at noon with Lake Worth magician James Changefield. Changefield is known for performing an age sensitive act all while using cultural references to make it fun for the entire family! Following the magic show will be Melissa and Starlings Performing Arts and Tutoring at 1:00pm and after that starting at 2:00pm will be Parks Federation Tae Kown Do doing a martial arts demonstration. At 3:00 young actors from the Performing Arts Theater of Boca Raton will perform renditions of “High School Musical” “Legally Blonde” and “Snoopy the Musical”.
Mizner Park offers a large array of family restaurants but for those looking for a different kind of lunch experience six food trucks will be on site and ready to accommodate even the pickiest of eaters. All food being prepared will be child-friendly and guests may bring beverages of their choice to enjoy throughout the day. The events staff is asking guests to please leave the coolers at home as there is no picnicking allowed at this event.
The event starts at 11:00AM and will go until 4:00pm. Mizner Park is located at 590 Plaza Real Drive in East Boca Raton. Tickets are available at the gate for $7 and children 18 months and younger will be free.
