Let’s not all freak out at once!
A nurse shark bit a woman at a local Boca Raton beach on Sunday May 15th. The 23 year old woman was taken to the hospital with the shark still attached to her arm.
The woman, whose name was not released, was treated at a hospital and was expected to be released the same day.
Many witnesses report that the woman was seen “messing” with the shark in the water until eventually the nurse shark had enough and defended itself by biting the woman.
The woman then ran out of the ocean with the shark still attached. The life guards decided that it would cause more damage to the skin if the shark was to be ripped off so instead called paramedics who took the woman to the local hospital.
Nurse sharks are not known to be aggressive and are very common across the state, especially around shallow waters.
Unfortunately, the shark never released its grip and soon died. The woman is expected to be fine.
