Boca Raton is home to many different restaurants and bars catering to just about any taste a person could have. So this weekend, we decided to cover some of our favorites that touch on just about any flavor you could be looking for. From a weekend bar to one of the best pizzas you’ll ever have, we hope to cover just about everything you might be looking for.
Rock’N Angels
7200 N. Dixie Highway, Boca Raton, FL, 33487
Website – http://www.rocknangels.com/
Rock’n Angels is your ultimate weekend hideaway for anyone looking to unwind after the work week blues. Located north Boca Raton near the Delray border, this gem is nestled into a private area and offers some great drink specials for happy hour and a killer choice in music.
While some may consider it to be a “dive-bar” this place has some real charm, and we mean that. They offer patio seating and a large area inside to enjoy all their weekly festivities. Offering karaoke, live music and some rather strange but lively décor. Rock’n Angels definitely gets the BocaNews seal of approval. Oh, and did we mention they serve pizza?
Taco Prince
180 S Federal Hwy, Boca Raton, FL 33432
Yelp Listing – http://www.yelp.com/biz/taco-prince-boca-raton-
Taco Prince is essentially a bang-for-your-buck Tex Mex establishment that should charge more for what they offer. The restaurant, located on S. Federal Highway just south of Camino Real Blvd has a rather eclectic mix of ingredients to put in their burritos, tacos and quesadillas. All while using only the freshest ingredients.
My personal favorite, the California Burrito is a slam-jam of French fries, carne-asada, guacamole, pico de gallo and assorted cheeses rolled in a tortilla. Taco Prince offers a casual atmosphere and is open for lunch and dinner 7 days a week.
Munchiez
158 NW 20th St, Boca Raton, FL 33431
Website – http://www.munchiez420.com/
Munchiez may sound like a half baked idea that came out of a college students dorm room, but let us be the first to tell you if you haven’t heard yet, it place is phenomenal. Located just east of FAU, Munchiez has just about anything that you could want. From sandwiches named after President Bill Clinton, to a late night wrap called “The Jeffrey.” We here at Boca News have tried just about half of what they offer, but definitely hope to try it all.
Munchiez specializes in sandwiches, but also offers salads, wraps, Ahi-tuna, burgers, Kobe beef hot dogs and cheese steaks with ingredients concocted by two culinary professionals with over 40 years experience. Not only is Munchiez delicious, but they also pride themselves on being environmentally conscious! That sounds like a win to me!
Mississippi Sweets
2399 N Federal Hwy, Boca Raton, FL 33431
Website – http://www.mississippisweetsbbq.com/catering-menu.html
As a southerner, I take great pride in the food my grandmother cooked in her kitchen, and Mississippi Sweets doesn’t miss a beat when it comes to replicating grandma’s barbecue! As soon as you walk in the front door, you’ll notice the restaurant is packed, and for good reason.
With real home-brewed tea, to their open kitchen, you can tell they take their food seriously. Their menu is extensive and offers real, down home, southern delicacies like Brunswick Stew, pulled pork barbecue and other assorted dishes. Carnivores you are in for a treat!
Cannoli Kitchen
2001 N. Federal Highway, Boca Raton, FL 33431
Website – http://www.cannolikitchen.com/about_cannoli__kitchen
Everyone loves a good pie right? Cannoli Kitchen, which has been a staple in east Boca Raton since 1996, definitely knows how to get it right. Their menu options range from pizzas, to salads, to Italian dishes all made with the freshest ingredients. You can taste the difference.
But the company really takes pride in their fast and efficient service, which helped to make it clear for us why they have been around for so long. With two locations, one in East Boca Raton and the other at 22191 Powerline Road, this family-first restaurant is sure to make one of the best pies you’ve ever had.
