Hello everyone,
Great to be speaking with everyone again. Let me give you the down low.
About a year ago, we started the site Boca News. Right from the get go, it was a huge success. We were creating valuable news worthy content and it seemed like residents of Boca Raton were really enjoying the site. Traffic was going up, people were inquiring about being listed on the business directory and life was good.
But… there was one minor problem. Creating the all content was a daunting task. We were able to find Emma as a part time writer and she did the best she could, but ultimately we were unable to keep up with the demand of up to date articles and content.
So after a few months reflection, I’ve decided to take a different approach.
Boca News is now a weekly newsletter. Every Thursday, I will hand pick the stories that I feel you need to know about. I will find events and drink specials and events so you can enjoy the weekends. I will find great personal stories so you can get to know the amazing and talented residents that you share this town with.
Everything you need to know about the previous week and the weekend ahead will be personally delivered to you every Thursday.
I am very excited about the new course for Boca News, and I hope that you will share our website with people you think could find value in this incredible resource.
Let’s keep in touch.
NEWS STORIES OF THE WEEK
Patch Reef Park Gets a Makeover
With football, soccer and lacrosse games year-round at Boca Raton’s Patch Reef Park, saving money on maintenance costs became a priority.
The solution?
The city is replacing the natural grass fields with a synthetic version, but opted for a more expensive organic turf as rumors swirl of cancer-causing chemicals in a popular synthetic turf that uses crumb rubber as a base.
Smoke Em If You Got Em
Last weekend, the Chainsmokers came to the American Airlines arena. The Grammy award-winning band played its first-ever arena show at American Airlines Arena on April 13. The show was the first stop on its U.S. tour.
The concert went great and the Chainsmokers are definitely one of the countries hottest acts right now. Browse through the image gallery of the concert.

There’s an App for That
The City of Boca Raton is proud to announce the launch of its new app, MyBocaLink. As a complement to the newly redesigned website www.myboca.us, the app has a similar design style and even more mobile convenience. The app was specifically developed to provide citizens and visitors with access to Boca Raton information and services 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
MyBocaLink was the name of the City’s communication landing page prior to the launch of redesigned City site.
