As a space junkie, news of solar eclipses get me really excited.
The upcoming eclipse is very special in that it is the first total eclipse to travel the entire U.S. (from coast to coast) in the last 99 years.
To be able to see the entire eclipse (meaning the moon will completely blot out the sun) you need to be somewhere on the “path of totality.” That is where the shadow that the moon casts will make the sun go completely dark.
Don’t worry, it will come back I promise.
Although Boca will not experience the entire eclipse, we should still see about an 80% blockage of light. The time for the eclipse is 2:57 PM.
Where Can You Watch the Eclipse?
Luckily, there are some organization that are hosting events.
These productions should also provide special glasses so that you can look directly into the eclipse without damaging your eyes. That would be bad.

Each one of the events are free. Some provide beverages as well as some education on the eclipse. The observatory will also have a telescope with a special Hydrogen alpha filter that will show other prominent solar activity.
How cool is that?
